As suggested by its very name, PPC, or pay per click - is when an ad is posted on a digital platform and gets a click,
thus the advertising party pays. Every single time that happens is when the advertiser is charged, aka- pays per click.


The short answer is that an algorithm chooses when and how people see an ad.
